Adam Anderson and Tyler Duschane of Buffalo Senior High joined Business Professionals of America (BPA) to compete in an E-commerce website competition. After digging into the competition specifications they realized they need to host their site on a server that could handle E-commerce capabilities.
Their instructor at Buffalo Senior High, Jim Bollum, contacted Aaron Weiche of Intrcomm Technology. Jim met Aaron through the Buffalo Area Chamber of Commerce and asked Aaron if his company could help these two students with hosting their E-commerce site. Intrcomm Technology offers small and medium sized businesses a single service provider for their IT and website needs. Intrcomm Technology and Aaron were glad to help.
Aaron met with the students and walked them through the system called the Site management Console (SMC). He made sure they had full access to the sites files. The students were able to put together a fully functional E-commerce site with Aaron and Intrcomm Technology’s assistance.
Duschane and Anderson competed at the Regional and State BPA competition and took first place in the E-commerce event. Both students agreed it was a great experience with a real world business application. They were very thankful to Aaron and Intrcomm technology for their assistance and support.
Bollum stated, “Partnerships between local businesses and education are powerful tools. Our students never would have had this type of opportunity in a normal classroom environment and Aaron and Intrcomm Technology made it happen.”
